Habitat for Humanity International has developed a service to process your donation. Habitat for Humanity of Genesee County will receive every penny of your donation, plus your name and contact information will be sent to our local office. HFHI will send you a receipt, plus any gift cards you may wish to send announcing your donation.
You may honor a loved one by sending a birthday or memorial card using this service.
Cars for Homes donation program
When you donate a car, truck, boat or RV to Habitat for Humanity’s “Cars for Homes” program, you are helping your Genesee County Habitat for Humanity build local homes in partnership with families within our community!
Habitat welcomes volunteers to help out on the construction site. Currently we are rehabilitating 39 Central Avenue in the City of Batavia. We work on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Volunteers do not need to have any construction experience to work on the site, however you must be 16 years of age or older. Please contact the office if you are interested in volunteering: (585) 345-1656 or info@geneseehabitat.com. We are also in need of volunteers to provide lunch for the work crew on Saturdays.
Youth under 16, as well as those who are not interested in construction or providing lunch, have come up with various other ways to help out and show their support for Habitat. Some examples include raising funds through summer church programs, holding a fundraiser for Habitat or event to raise awareness for Habitat, or helping out with office work. Youth have even built a storage shed off site for a Habitat homeowner. Please contact us if you are interested in getting involved or would like to schedule a speaker to come to talk to your business or organization about Habitat.
Donating a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle is quick and easy, and your car donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details).
