In the days leading up to Mother’s Day construction crews of female volunteers will raise their hammers at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, April 30 through May 8. Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity of Genesee County, NY Inc. are looking for local women to volunteer for a day at one of our Batavia Habitat construction sites during this nine-day event. Construction or home improvement experience is not necessary.
The event will take place at 11 Raymond Ave. in the city of Batavia
Saturday, May 7th from 8 am to 2 pm.

Share the Love this Holiday Season
SUBARU has once again selected Habitat for Humanity International to participate in its annual “Share The Love” Event.
Habitat for the Humanity is partnering with Subaru for the third year in a row in its “Share The Love” Event. Subaru will donate $250 to one of five charities for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased, up to $5 million. Funds from the Subaru “Share The Love” Event support our mission to end poverty housing by providing decent, affordable housing to families across the United States.
This year’s program will run Nov. 20, 2010 – Jan. 3, 2011. Visit your local Subaru dealership for details.
On September 18th we had a group of University of Rochester Alumni come to our work site and volunteer.

HELP US BUILD HOUSES BY DONATING YOUR OLD CLOTHES, SHOES AND LINENS
Don’t Forget to check out our St. Pauly’s shed! Any donations of gently used clothes, shoes, linens, drapes, belts, purses, and blankets brought to our shed at The First United Methodist Church in Batavia (8221 Lewiston Road) helps Habitat build houses! Please make sure your items are bagged when you drop them off, and don’t forget to take your tax receipt, as all donations are eligible for a tax deduction. With your partnership, we can raise much needed funds for our next build!
We are currently working on our 8th house in Genesee County.
